Tourist Information Centers
Tourist Information Centers are the best way to find information about the area you are visiting. You can obtain free advice, free information leaflets, and purchase maps and guide books. You can also pick up free leaflets on places to visit and tour guide services, travel information and what’s on in the area. Their staff can give you general information on buses, trains and other transportation services and local tours.
Tourist Information Centers offer a free local accommodation booking service, a national Book-A-Bed-Ahead service, which will reserve accommodation for you at your next destination for a small charge. You can also purchase souvenirs, stamps and phonecards.
Some Tourist Information Centers also provide a fax and photocopying service.
Most Tourist Information Centers are open Mon. to Fri. between 9:30AM to 5:00PM, with extended hours and Sunday opening during the summer.
Here is a list of the Tourist Information Centers in the south of England, including London. You can also visit their national website.
